The Clarkson systems and offices behind a clinical semester
Six everyday systems carry a Clarkson College graduate nursing student from registration to the final clinical log: MyCC, Canvas (the Online Campus), Microsoft 365 email, The Nest, the Clarkson Service League Library and Qualified First/Verified. Two of them shape your clinicals more than they appear to. MyCC's permanent address field determines which state's rules Clarkson applies to you, and Canvas can close a course to you while your health and safety file is incomplete.

Clarkson switched its health and safety tracker from CastleBranch to Qualified First/Verified between June and September 2026; the health and safety guide covers the checklist and its deadlines.
MyCC: the address field that decides your state
MyCC looks like a place for grades and bills, and it is, but one field in it carries weight for clinicals. Policy OG-33 reads your location from the home address Clarkson recorded when you first enrolled, then holds your program up against that state's line in the licensure workbook.
Updating that address in MyCC starts a clock. When the new state is one where Clarkson's program falls short of requirements, a personal written notice from Clarkson follows within two weeks. Program directors review the state determinations at least once a year.
Before you move, talk to your program director. Clarkson warns that relocating to a state where it is not authorized could cost eligibility for some financial aid or the ability to finish the program. The state authorization guide lists which states the 2026-27 workbook marks Meets and Does Not Meet.
Canvas and email: where approvals land
Canvas holds each course from its first day until six weeks after the term ends, then the course disappears from your dashboard. Download preceptor evaluations, signed documents and any feedback you may need for a later course or a license application before that window closes. New students complete the Student Success Guide on the Canvas dashboard, and a Help button reaches Canvas support at any hour.
Clarkson notes that some programs block access to certain courses when a student is out of compliance with health and safety requirements. A course that suddenly will not open is worth checking against your Qualified First/Verified file before anything else.
Email is where the clinical approval trail runs. Clarkson's 2021-22 graduate handbook required both course faculty approval and the final DocuSign email confirming the paperwork before any hours began, and the November 2023 sheets had the Compliance Department return the finished agreement to you for upload in the course. Clarkson asks students to read college email daily and to keep it inside the Clarkson account rather than forwarding it elsewhere.
The Nest, the library and student services
Clarkson's catalog sends students to The Nest for the full academic calendar and every campus event. That is where the three Graduate Weekends tied to NRS 830 are posted each year, and the Graduate Weekend page sets out the 2026-27 dates. Advisors also point students to the student success guide kept in The Nest.
The Clarkson Service League Library serves online students in full through remote access. CINAHL covers the nursing literature, DynaMed gives quick clinical answers, and an APA 7th edition guide supports written assignments. RAP sessions help with research questions, which matters most in the DNP project courses.
The Current Students hub also lists a Writing Lab, Tutoring, a Testing Center and Personal Counseling. The catalog names the Center for Teaching and Learning as the contact for online education.
The clinical platforms: DocuSign, Typhon and My Clinical Exchange
Three more systems belong to clinicals alone. The Clinical/Practicum Site & Preceptor Agreement Form ran through DocuSign in every Clarkson document from 2017 to 2025; the agreement guide explains it. Typhon held clinical logs, and the November 2023 sheets said preceptors and sites were not entered into Typhon until the DocuSign paperwork was complete; see the Typhon guide. My Clinical Exchange handled requests to CHI, UnityPoint, Avera, Sanford and Children's, according to Clarkson's 2025 resources page.
Clarkson's current Verified FAQ also asks students to update their name in every clinical placement platform where they hold an account, naming My Clinical Exchange, Clinicians Nexus and Exxat as examples. No live 2026 Clarkson page confirms that DocuSign and Typhon are still in use, so check with your Graduate Nursing advisor at the start of each program year.

Clarkson's 2021-22 handbook said the Graduate Nursing advisors, working with the program coordinators, oversaw the DocuSign, Typhon and My Clinical Exchange systems along with health and safety tracking. No Clarkson page names a graduate clinical placement coordinator, so placement questions start with your advisor.

Questions Clarkson students ask
Why does my MyCC address matter for clinicals?
Because that address tells Clarkson which state you are in. The college checks your program against the matching line of its licensure workbook, and moving your address to a state marked Does Not Meet brings a written notice within two weeks. Raise any planned move with your program director while it is still a plan.
Canvas will not open my course. Could it be my health and safety file?
It can be. Clarkson says some programs block access to certain courses when a student is out of compliance with health and safety requirements. Check your Qualified First/Verified to-do list first, then contact the Compliance office if everything looks complete. Canvas help is available around the clock through the Help button.
Who at Clarkson approves my preceptor?
Several roles share it. Clarkson's archived DocuSign instructions sent the form from you to your advisor for a course and term check, then to Compliance for the affiliation agreement and to Graduate Nursing for the last signature; course faculty then cleared you to begin hours. Is Typhon still Clarkson's clinical log in 2026?
The last confirmation is the 2025-26 catalog, which still named Typhon for graduate nursing students, and the November 2023 sheets required every clinical hour and experience to be logged there. No live 2026 Clarkson page names it. Raise the question with your advisor or faculty as your first clinical course opens.
Can I forward my Clarkson email to a personal account?
Clarkson asks students to check college email daily and to leave it in the Clarkson account instead of forwarding it. It calls email the primary way the college communicates, and clinical approvals, compliance reminders and faculty notes all arrive there.
