What Clarkson's workbook decides
One Graduate Nursing answer covers every MSN, certificate and DNP track: Meets in 38 states and Does Not Meet in twelve. Your permanent address in MyCC decides which answer applies to you, and a move to a Does Not Meet state can end your ability to finish, so talk to your program director before you relocate.

Which states are closed to Clarkson's graduate nursing programs?
The 2026-27 workbook marks Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Louisiana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, Oregon, Tennessee and West Virginia as Does Not Meet for Graduate Nursing. The nurse anesthesia tab adds North Dakota.
Can I do Clarkson clinicals in a state I do not live in?
Clarkson's rules turn on licenses: your RN license must be effective where the clinical happens, and your preceptor must be licensed in that state. The state must also be one where the workbook says graduate nursing meets requirements. Confirm with your Graduate Nursing advisor first.
Why does California say Meets if it is outside NC-SARA?
Clarkson's own footnote says every state is covered under NC-SARA except California, yet the Graduate Nursing tab still marks California Meets. Clarkson does not explain the difference, so California residents should confirm with the program before they plan clinicals.
How current is the state workbook?
The AY 2026-27 workbook file is dated August 28, 2026, and Clarkson's Policy OG-33 says the determinations are reviewed at least once a year. New Hampshire and North Dakota both changed between recent versions.
